Wednesday, November 19th, 20034’22” / Words & Music by Tal Zana
Arrangements & Vocals by Jeanne Gignoux
Written and recorded over a period of several weeks in the winter of 2003. This is the only recording where I used a Shure TLM-103 microphone, which worked nicely with Jeanne’s crystal-clear vocals.
La suite du 52
Friday, August 1st, 20031’44” / Words ad-libbed by Jeanne Gignoux
Music & Arrangements by Jeanne Gignoux, Tal Zana & Georges Lafitte
Written and recorded in two days in 2003, this was mostly done for fun. We were recording on-the-fly with anything that we found around us: Coca-Cola cans, notebooks, ashtrays, trash cans… Jeanne improvised the crazy and meaningless lyrics in one take.
Mercedes Benz
Monday, August 19th, 19961’03” / Words & Music by Janis Joplin & Bob Newirth
Arrangements & Vocals by Tal Zana & Ragazzina
This is a rearrangement for six vocals, bass and drums of the wonderful Janis Joplin track of the same name. Composed overnight in a feverish harmonization frenzy, this track features Ragazzina in the lead and both of us in backing vocals. Written and recorded in six hours in 1996.
